FIRST RESPONDERS FIRST
First Responder Support exists to promote goodwill between first responders and the community, increase awareness of the realities facing first responders, and provide relief and support to those who serve Boone County as first responders. Our current focus is on firefighters, EMTs, emergency telecommunications, and law enforcement officers and for municipalities in Boone County.
How We Help
We promote goodwill between first responders and the community
by facilitating opportunities for first responders to engage with the community. Such opportunities are diverse and broad and may include events and programs such as toy drives, Shop with a Hero events, community first aid, opiate awareness or other clinics.
We increase awareness of the realities facing first responders
by communicating information about the stressors and challenges faced by first responders and the people who serve. We do this in various ways including through informational videos, social media posts, online and in-person live discussions, and educational programs.
We provide relief to those who serve the community as first responders
by providing financial assistance to first responders (and their families) who experience loss and who are in need; and for substance abuse and mental health treatment and other treatment and wellness resources.
We provide support to those who serve the community as first responders
in many ways, including by hosting and sponsoring attendance at training conferences, developing and implementing comprehensive plans to address the needs of first responders who experience crises and critical incidents.
